Home Collegewide Media Services Troubleshooting Guides

These guidelines are to help address problems with Media equipment usage and to help streamline the troubleshooting process. If you are still having issues, please contact Media Services at 7149 or submit a ticket to Service Central.

First and foremost is to make sure any equipment being used is “Powered On”. In most classrooms all media equipment including computers are connected to a main power strip located in the cabinet that is a single “On/Off” switch. When turned on, the switch will light up indicating that equipment has power.

Be aware that some equipment will be turned off at the unit itself. This often happens with DVD/VHS players, Audio power amplifiers and sometimes even using a projector remote to power down the projector.

It is imperative that when you are finished using the Smart Panel Projection System that you “Turn Off” the projector at the Smart Panel. Leaving it on puts hours on to the bulbs that have a limited hour usage and the costs associated for replacing these bulbs can be high depending on the unit.
