Description

How can storytelling in the classroom and awareness of linguistic justice promote better success and opportunities for students, particularly students of color?

As a Cosumnes River College student, Ray La Point has investigated perceptions of language, gender, and culture and how they shape educational outcomes. Ray will share his research on the socio-cultural elements of America’s higher education system and the disconnect for students of color and facilitate a discussion exploring best practices related to language and dialogue in the classroom.

Ray is also a father of two little boys, a member of the CRC Honor program, and President of the ARC Psi Beta chapter.
